Butler Bikes Registration
Please read the following carefully in full and then answer the questions below to be added to the Bike scheme.
You can chose to subscribe to the Bike scheme as a standard member or an ambassador. Ambassadors help to maintain the fleet of bikes in college and in return get a discount on the yearly subscription fee. Don’t worry if bike mechanics are new to you, we will teach you! Standard members do not have this obligation.
Please make this payment to the Butler JCR:
Name: Josephine Butler College JCR
Sort Code: 40-19-31
Account Number: 51890832
Reference: ‘CIS CODE + ‘BBS’+’am/st (eg. abcd12BBSst) (‘am/st’=short for Ambassador or standard options)
You can also make payments in person at the JCR office as long as you are a liver-in or have permission to enter college.
Once you have filled out this form and made the payment to the JCR, please complete the key cabinet form on the JCR website so that your campus card has access to the key cabinet, which can be found in the reception foyer.
By completing this form and signing on to the bike scheme you are agreeing to adhere to the highway code. Breaching the Highway code on a Butler Bike will result in your subscription being cancelled.
Butler Bikes can be taken out an unlimited number of times by members however they must be returned within 24hrs of each use.
Helmets must be worn as a minimum, which are provided. There are also yellow high-vis jackets provided for riding in foggy weather/at night. All kit can be found in the bike blocks.
All of the bikes are numbered 1-10. The bigger the number the bigger the bike, bare this in mind when you take one out. Bikes 1-5 are womens bikes, 6-10 are mens. The bikes come with full front and rear lights fitted and a D-lock fitted to the frame. These MUST be used to secure the bikes when left unattended outside of college. If you have any issues with the sign-up, or have any questions in general do not hesitate to contact the exec via the Butler Bikes Facebook page!
