Butler College has two successful football clubs – one men’s club and one women’s club. The men’s club, JBCFC, is Butler’s biggest sports club with close to 100 members across a total of 6 teams in different divisions in the league pyramid. So whatever experience or level of footballing ability you possess, there is a team for you! Despite its relatively new existence in College terms, the Club has cup-winning pedigree. The men’s ‘A’ Team are former Floodlit Cup winners and two-time cup finalists, narrowly missing out on the title in 2019 after a dramatic cup run which included a penalty shootout win and a semi-final victory against favourites Collingwood ‘A’.

The women’s club, JBWFC, has one ‘A’ Team, and they remain the undefeated winners of the College Women’s Football League, as well as multiple-time Floodlit Cup winners. Year upon year, JBWFC maintains its status among College football elite and aims to keep up its strong position next year.

Both Clubs train regularly at Maiden Castle and on the MUGA and welcome the arrival of more freshers to bring more glory to Butler football. Whether you’d like to be a social member, train casually or play competitively against other Colleges with the men’s or women’s teams, definitely join JBFC!
